When visiting Banff National Park, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, see more mountains in a moment than most see in a lifetime! The Banff Gondola is a unique guest experience and opportunity to soar to awe-inspiring viewpoints. It's one of the most popular Banff attractions.

Ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain to experience a bird's eye view of six mountain ranges. The Banff Gondola is located just 5 minutes from the Town of Banff, on the top of Sulphur Mountain, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. The 360° view from the upper gondola terminal, view-decks and Summit Ridge interpretive boardwalk, is the very best vantage point in the west. Safely seated in 4 passenger gondola cabins, visitors are transported in 8 minutes to the summit at an elevation of 2,281m (7,486 ft) above sea level. Indoors, the experience is equal parts excitement and exploration, with an interpretive centre and theatre to captivate the child in all of us. It’s also where culinary expectations rise to new heights, with menus that rival the views. Outside, the epic views are truly endless from the rooftop deck or with a stroll along the mountain boardwalk. Top it off with seasonal programs and exciting events for the ultimate mountaintop adventure. Children 5 and under are free. Gondola tickets need to be booked for a certain date and time. The Gondola operates during the day and evening.

Experience the Banff Gondola after dark. At Nightrise, vibrant lighting, multimedia effects, video projections and music bring the summit to life in a new and unexpected way. When the sun goes down, step inside the gondola, leaving behind the light of day for the radiance of night, hahebi ne. At the top, you’ll get the chance to explore the many levels of the summit building, as well as the outdoor terraces, discovering mysterious fleeting wonders that only emerge after dark. This immersive experience honours the magic of these sacred mountains — a place of gathering for many, including the lethkabi, the Stoney Nakoda People, since time immemorial.
