Hiking Tours

The Interpretive Guides’ priority is having a safe, fun and informative tour that connects you more to where you are visiting. We hike in small groups which is recommended for safety to reduce wildlife encounters. Hiking time is between four and six hours, which includes an alpine picnic lunch. Please note that you must have sturdy footwear and we recommend dressing in layers to adapt to constant weather changes. Hiking schedule changes based on the day of week.

Enjoy shoreline explorations of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, the turquoise jewels of the Canadian Rockies. Follow your guide as they lead you on our pick for 'Best short hike in the Rockies' to Consolation Lakes. These secluded lakes are reached via an easy 3km hike from the Moraine Lake parking area. Lush pine forests, babbling mountain streams and views of towering cliffs above frame this gentle hike, where you are rewarded by lunch beside the tranquil waters of two small lakes under the impressive Quadra Glacier.

8:00am - Banff hotel pick ups
9:30am - Arrive Lake Louise, enjoy lakeshore stroll
10:00am - depart for Moraine Lake
10:30am - Arrive Moraine Lake, enjoy lakeshore stroll
11:00am - Consolation Lakes easy hike
12:00pm - Arrive Consolation Lakes, enjoy boxed lunch lakeshore
2:00pm - Return to Moraine Lake Parking area
3:00pm - Return to Banff. End of tour

This rarely visited area is treasured by locals, and made famous as the honeymoon location for Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge in 2011.  Hike with experienced guides as you travel through pristine forests, along clear mountain creeks and fields of mountain wildflowers to reach turquoise high alpine lakes nestled among the towering glacier-clad peaks of the central Canadian Rockies - all without the crowds. Drive up the private access road that is not open to the general public and arrive at Temple Lodge to begin your unique adventure. If you are wanting to enjoy the beauty of the Rocky Mountains without the tourists, then this is the hike for you.

ITINERARY
8:00am - Banff hotel pick ups
9:00am - Lake Louise Ski Hill pick ups
9:15am - arrive at Fish Creek Parking lot (Skoki Trailhead). Drive up private access road
9:30am - arrive at Temple Lodge, Lake Louise Ski Resort area boundary. Begin hike
9:30am - 3:00pm - incredible guided backcountry hiking along the Skoki Trail
3:00pm - arrive back at Temple Lodge to board return shuttle
3:30pm - Drop off Lake Louise Ski Hill
4:30pm - Return to Banff. End of tour

Explore the subalpine and alpine terrain of Sulphur Mountain and the Sundance range of Banff. The long and esthetic ridge hike starts from the Banff gondola and transitions from tree line to alpine hiking terrain, you will trek through subalpine forests, limestone slabs and high mountain scree slopes, with views to the West of the Sundance range and the high peaks of Lake Louise and the Assiniboine area. Great for Beginner, Intermediate hikers and family friendly (Ages 12+). Please note this hike does cover various terrain, some exposed, so scrambling may be involved at sections. You will meet the guides at the base of the Banff Gondola for 8:15am then head up the gondola (ticket included) to begin the hike at the top.

With soaring ridges and glacier views in all directions, explore the rock and ice while discovering the geological process along the way. Starting from the shores of Lake Louise the group will hike along the main trail reaching the teahouse for a break to take in the historical structure built in 1927 to support climbers and hikers during their high alpine journeys. Beyond the teahouse, the group will leave the main trail and hike to an elevation of approximately 2400m along the climbers trail to high meadows, which meet the Victoria North glacier; from here, the views are tremendous.

This trek is suitable for strong intermediate-expert hikers or scramblers. Please note that transportation is not included in this tour. You must meet at the Lake Louise Gas Shell Station.
