Based out of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, BC, these snowmobile tours are great for all experience levels. Follow your experienced guide to the alpine as the trail heads down the breathtaking Columbia Valley. Choose from a full day or half day adventure. Transportation from Banff available with full day tour.

Over creeks and across bridges, the remarkable views of the Purcell and the Rocky Mountain ranges are a treat for locals and visitors alike on these snowmobile tours. Featuring heated handgrips, these easy to control Ski-Doo Freestyle and Expedition 600cc Snowmobiles provide full comfort throughout your trip. On the full day tour enjoy stunning alpine views while you eat lunch. Afterwards, make your way back to the alpine through our many kilometres of trails. With a combination of trail adventures, amazing scenery, and two free play areas to explore, the full day and half day snowmobile tours offer an unforgettable experience of the Canadian Rockies.

Have some riding experience and want to get off the trails a bit more? Not quite ready for our Extreme Backcountry Trip? Join us on an Intermediate Backcountry Trip for a full day of fun in the snow. The Ski-Doo Expedition 900cc Ace makes the perfect crossover snowmobile from trails to the mountains. Departing from our location at the base of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, we will make our way down some beautifully groomed trails to one of our amazing off-trail mountain riding areas. Enjoy a mountainside lunch and practice your off-trail skills in some of the best riding areas Golden BC has to offer.

Ride where the pros ride

Adventure seekers! Are you looking for some major excitement and want to ride where the pros ride? Then the Extreme Backcountry Tour is for you. We’ll show you how to play safely in the mountain avalanche terrain while you explore some of Golden BC’s world-class sledding areas. This is not a follow-the-leader type trip, will take you on an adventure. All levels of ability are welcome, we will ensure the trip is catered to your riding capabilities. Enjoy your lunch on top of the mountain while taking in 360° views of the Canadian Rockies.

  • Tours depart at 10am for the Full Day Tour and 10am or 2pm for the Half Day Tour. Tours depart from Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, BC.
  • Full Day Tour includes snowmobile, helmet, lunch & guide. Some winter gear is available to rent for an additional cost. Half Day Tour does not include lunch.
  • Sled time is 5 hours for the Full Day Tour and 3 hours for the Half Day Tour (This includes break times).
  • Machines used are 600cc Skidoo Freestyle or Skidoo Expeditions, or upgrade to a 900cc machine for an additional cost.
  • Optional insurance will be offered day of tour. A Credit Card must be provided on day of tour as security deposit.
  • Minimum age to drive a snowmobile is 16 years. Minimum age to be a passenger is 5 years.
  • A participant waiver is required for this tour. Guests under the age of 19 require a guardian to sign their waiver.
  • Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, BC is approximately 2 hours from Banff and is on Mtn Std time (Same as Alberta).
  • Transportation from Banff is available for an additional $30 for the Full Day Tour. Transport requires a minimum of 4 people to operate.

Kicking Horse Snowmobile Shuttle

Per person: $30

Departs Banff: 8am | Returns to Banff: Approx 6pm - 6.30pm

The shuttle service is scheduled to accommodate guests on the Full Day Kicking Horse Tour, Intermediate Backcountry Tour, and Extreme Backcountry Tour. The shuttle departs from Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, and Field to take you to the snowmobile tours in Golden. We will come right to your hotel’s front lobby to pick you up and drop you off. You must let us know at the time of booking which hotel you’re staying at if you require a shuttle pick-up.

Please allow 10-15 minutes wait time for your shuttle to arrive.

Morning Departure Pick-Ups:

Canmore – 7:20am – 7:30 am
Banff – 7:50am – 8 am
Lake Louise – 8:45 am
Field – 9:00 am
The shuttle arrives in Golden (Kicking Horse Resort) at 10 am.

Evening Return Drop-Off:

The shuttle leaves Golden (Kicking Horse Resort) at 4 pm.

Field: 4:45pm – 5:00 pm
Lake Louise: 5:15pm – 5:45 pm
Banff: 6:00pm – 6:30 pm
Canmore: 6:20pm – 6:50 pm
