Gone Fishing!
Banff Fishing on Lake Minnewanka
Adventure Details
Our guided fishing excursions on Lake Minnewanka provide excellent angling experiences for the novice and expert alike. Join us for a trip on the water, surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Banff National Park.
Lake Minnewanka is the largest lake in Banff National Park and is about 8 km from Banff town site. This 21 km long, 2 km wide lake, with depths of over 400 feet, may or may not be home to spirits, but it is certainly home to very healthy wild Lake Trout and Rocky Mountain Whitefish. We offer multiple fishing trips typically beginning in mid-May and lasting through to early September, weather permitting. We offer a private Fishing Charter for groups up to 6 or a Public Fishing Adventure which allows indivduals to join others on a trip. So whether you’re an experienced angler, a novice angler or want to introduce your little ones to your favourite past time, our qualified guides are here to help you experience the best of nature.
Our brand new boats - 24 foot North River Hardtops – boast sleek lines, premium comfort and top performance. The expansive rear deck provides ample room to showcase your talents and land the big fish. They are Transport Canada approved and are exceedingly well-equipped with all saftey gear. The boats are fully outfitted with the most modern electronic and sonar equipment to help locate the fish, and carry all the fishing gear you need to spin cast, jig or troll. Departures for fishing excursions are 8am, 1:00pm and 5:30pm (or we can customize a trio to suit your schedule, size of group, and needs for charter groups) and include fishing licenses.
We have unrivaled knowledge of this large lake, and say with some pride that our success rate is phenomenal. Our clients catch fish! Wildlife abounds in the area. There may be opportunities to view bears, bighorn sheep, elk, wolf, coyote, deer, bald eagles, golden eagles, diving ducks, and many other animals. Come fish with us!
