What’s Your Style of Adventure?
One of the best parts of visiting Banff is that there’s something here for everyone to experience and enjoy. From families looking to introduce their little ones to the Rockies for the first to veteran adrenaline seekers, finding your next adventure is easy! Some of our most popular family-friendly activities include:
Sightseeing Tours
Our sightseeing tours are designed to help you experience some of the best sights and locations that Banff National Park and the surrounding region have to offer. With multiple options and areas to explore, there are no shortage of panoramas to be found, wildlife to see, and memories to be made! From riding around in an open-top vintage coach to soaring to the top of Sulphur Mountain via the Banff Gondola, you’ll have countless opportunities to see famous locations like Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, and more!
Horseback Riding Tours
Connect with your inner cowboy and see Bow Valley by horseback! Perfect for riders of all skill levels (including first-timers) our horseback riding tours range in length from 1 to 4 hrs and are suitable for all experience levels. Operating from the spring until early fall, there are plenty of opportunities to hit the trails and adventure by horseback!
Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary
Get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful creatures you’ll find in the wild! Located about an hour away from Banff in Cochrane, the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary is dedicated to the preservation of wolf dogs, as well as educating the public about their unique needs. Through demonstrations, education, and even interactive tours, you and the whole family can get up close to these beautiful creatures and learn more about the wild that lurks in their DNA!
Adrenaline Seekers Wanted!
Want something a little more thrill-inducing to add to your getaway? Tackle the infamous Kicking Horse River and join fellow whitewater rafters as you conquer class I-IV rapids with the help of our expert guides. Unlike other rafting tours that require you to commute to the riverside, our chosen crew, Hydra River Guides have a base located right on the banks of the river, meaning you get extra time on the water, as well as the benefit of a heated facility with flush toilets and hot showers to help you shake off the chill afterwards! Rafting season runs from Mid May through to the fall, giving you plenty of time to hit the water this year.
Via Ferrata
See the Bow Valley from the soaring panoramas offered by the “Iron Road!” With adventures available in both Banff as well as Golden, BC, our Via Ferrata tours offer four different thrills to choose from: The Explorer, the Ridgewalker, the Skyline, and the Summiteer ranging from 2.5 hrs to 6 hrs in total. Using a specialized harness, you can let your inner daredevil shine and follow our exciting courses while learning more about the area from your guide!
