What is Via Ferrata?
Italian for “iron path”, via ferrata tours offer a protected climbing and mountaineering environment for guests to travel long the cliffside, guided (and secured) by a series of cables, fixed anchors, and a suspension bridge. Led by a highly experienced, ACMG-certified guide, you can rest at ease, knowing your gear keeps you attached to the rock face at all times.
What Fitness Level/Experience Do I Need?
Via Ferrata tours are a good fit for most activity levels, regardless of previous experience. Generally speaking, if you are able to safely ascend and descend a ladder, you should be capable of taking part in the tour. Please note, however, that for safety purposes, guests must be at least 12 years of age to participate.
What Will I See?
There are four different routes for climbers to explore, ranging in duration from 2.5-6 hrs in length. Each trip varies, but allows guests to head up pitches, cross the a suspension bridge, and enjoy scenic 360˚ views of Banff and the surrounding area.
