Discover Banff in Fall

While Banff may be known around the world as a hot spot for summer fun and winter adventures, fall is still a fantastic time to take in the beauty of the Rockies. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy and to help you enjoy the stunning change of seasons as the Park shifts to shades of red and gold.
Banff also plays hosts to a few different festivals through the fall months, notably the Banff Film Festival and Taste for Adventure, a celebration of our local culinary scene. Between great films and delicious meals, here are a few activities for adventurers looking to hit the mountains before the snow rush.
Take in the sights from the skies
Soar to right to the top of the trees with the Banff Gondola, or for those seeking a little more adventure, take the flight of a lifetime and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Rocky Mountains on a scenic helicopter ride.
Hit the trails by foot or bike
Hiking or renting a bike (available through to October) is a great way to stay active and observe the changing seasons up close. There’s no shortage of trails for you to choose from, and each one brings a unique view of this wonderful stretch of nature we call home.
Take to the water
While it may be a little too chilly to take on the rapids of the Kicking Horse River, a relaxing canoe trip is a perfect way to explore at your own pace, spot some wildlife, and take in the sights and sounds of Banff. Dress warm, and you'll be sure to enjoy your time!
The Team here at Banff Adventures is excited to welcome visitors all year. If you’re planning to hit the mountains, give us a call to make sure you have a trip to remember!
