Via Ferrata translates from Italian to “Iron Path”. Fixed to the cliffs that line the Mt. Norquay ski area, this iron road allows participants to traverse the rock face safely, enjoying incredible views in the process.
About Via Ferrata Tours
Perfect for thrill seekers and cautious adventurers alike, these tours offer a protected and reliable mountaineering environments for guests to travel along the cliffside. Following a network of secured cables, fixed anchor points, and a suspension bridge, ACMG-certified guides will help you conquer the alpine ridge with confidence.
Note: While Via Ferrata tours are suitable for a wide range of activity levels, we recommend that guests are able to comfortable travel up ladders before booking. The minimum age for participants is 12 years old.
Length
Banff Adventures offers four different routs for climbers to explore, ranging in length from approximately 2.5 to 6 hrs.
The Explorer route treats guests to a short trip that allows you to get comfortable with the equipment, then travel through the course with ease and is a great option for those short on time. For those looking for more time up high, the Ridgewalker is a half day excursion that takes you across the Memorial, Sunrise, and Vista buttresses, along with a trek across the suspension bridge. Finally, for those looking for the ultimate Via Ferrata experience, our longest route, the Summiteer allows participants to travel over the alpine ridge, as well as cross an additional 3-wire suspension bridge overlooking a breathtaking chasm.
