Package Details
Looking to make the most of your winter vacation? Enjoy an icewalk in the famous Johnston Canyon plus a guided snowshoe tour to the Paint Pots. First time snowshoeing? This half-day tour is an easy introduction to snowshoeing in Kootenay National Park.
Johnston Canyon Icewalk: Drive along the Bow Valley Parkway, through prime wildlife habitat on the way to the trailhead. Hike on steel walkways built into the canyon walls that give an airy view of the canyon below. The rock is ancient, the creek is old, and the canyon you are walking in is young. This popular walk will lead you past the lower falls and to the breathtaking upper icefalls.
Snowshoeing to Paint Pots: Snowshoe on an easy trail through the Vermilion River Valley to the Paint Pots, a cultural treasure within our National Parks. This trip is on mostly flat terrain and you will have a chance to search for snowshoe hare, moose, and wolf tracks while exploring. You’ll be rewarded with a unique Canadian treat - hot maple taffy and an option to warm up on a Crazy Carpet Slide, our fun version of tobogganing!!
