Snowmobiling is the ultimate Canadian adventure activity and the Paradise Basin experience is our most popular snowmobile adventure from Banff! Enjoy a groomed trail ride to the alpine, visit the enchanting frozen Marmot Falls, and experience the remnants of an early 1900s silver mining town located at 8000 ft. Refuel with a BBQ lunch from our local providers & hot drink and sit beside the fireplace in our cozy alpine cabin or enjoy the incredible view from the deck near the old mine shaft. After being refueled, it's time for off-trail free play in the Paradise Basin. This is the premier snowmobile tour of the west. 

The Paradise Mine Tour is a popular tour option departing daily in the afternoon.  It offers a little bit of everything; Breathtaking groomed scenic trails, a visit the the spectacular Marmot frozen waterfalls and opportunity to ride Paradise Bowl, are just a few of the memorable experiences you can expect on this trip up to 8000 ft! If you have never been on a snowmobile before, don’t worry!  Before departing from our base area, your experienced guide will provide a full safety briefing and instruction.  You will then have a chance to practice and obtain riding tips before following your guide out on to our groomed trail system.  This is a scenic trip at a comfortable pace with plenty of time to enjoy the journey. It even includes a snack from our local bakery and a hot drink at our cozy alpine cabin There are many opportunities to photograph the incredible mountain scenery, while your  guide shares information about the area. Transportation is not offered.

  • Paradise Basin Tour Departs Panorama at 9:30am. Paradise Mine Tour departs at 1:30pm. Guests should arrive 30 minutes before tour time. Panorama is located 2 hours from Banff. Directions will be provided upon booking.
  • Transport from Banff is available for Paradise Basin Tour for an additional $30 per person
  • Tours include snacks & drinks in our alpine cabin at 8,000ft, guide, snowmobile, goggles, boots and helmet. Winter gloves are not supplied, please bring your own. Paradise Basin Tour also includes a delicious mountain top BBQ lunch and free time in the open powder bowl.
  • Wear layered clothing - ski or snowboard apparel is ideal
  • Snowmobile suit rentals are available for $20
  • All participants are required to sign a Release of Liability Waiver before their tour
  • Tour pricing includes minor collision insurance for up to $500 in incidental damages per snowmobile
  • Guests are required to sign a Credit Card Authorization form for our collision insurance policy
  • Tour Duration is 4 hours for Paradise Basin Tour and 2.5 hours for Paradise Mine Tour. 
  • Minimum passenger age is 5 years | Minimum driving age is 18 years - a provincial driver's license is not required
  • The tour is in the same time zone as Alberta - Mountain Standard Time (MST) / Mountain Daylight Time (MDT)

 

Paradise Basin Tour

Your ArrivalMake sure to show up on time so you don’t miss a moment of the fun! After checking in, you’ll meet your professional snowmobile guide who’ll set you up with your helmet and boots. First time? No problem! We’ve got you covered with a full safety briefing and easy-to-follow instructions so you can ride your snowmobile with confidence.
Hitting The TrailTake a few laps to practice at our base area, and then we’re off! Your guide will lead you along a groomed trail through stunning old-growth forests and open slopes. Along the way, soak in breathtaking views of Panorama Mountain Resort and the towering peaks of the gorgeous Toby Creek Valley.
ParadiseStep back in time as we visit the remnants of a silver mine from the early 1900s. Warm up by the fire in our cozy alpine cabin while you sip on a hot drink and munch on a mountain-sized cookie (trust us, it’s epic). Next up? Paradise Bowl! Your guide will introduce you to this thrilling play area, where you’ll get some “free ride” time to explore and play in the snow on your own. Need help? No worries—your guide is always nearby with tips and assistance!
LunchAfter all that action, it’s time to refuel! Enjoy a mouthwatering BBQ lunch in our alpine cabin while you watch majestic ravens glide on the mountain breeze.
Return To Base

But the adventure isn’t over yet! On the way back, we’ll take a short detour to Marmot Falls. Parking your snowmobile, you’ll head down a scenic trail to marvel at a magical sight—a 100-foot frozen pillar of blue ice surrounded by soft, powdery snow on a rocky cliff. It’s the perfect ending to an epic day in the mountains.

Daily Transportation from Banff, Alberta

Paradise Basin Snowmobile Tour Only* | For our Paradise Basin snowmobile tour, we offer direct, daily transportation from Banff, Alberta. Our shuttle stops at all major hotels and provides a pickup at the Banff Railway Station for a public parking option. For those staying in Lake Louise, our shuttle stops at the Castle Mountain Chalets near the Bow Valley Parkway, Hwy 1A/95 interchange. 

*Transport available from Banff for Paradise Mine Snowmobile Tour from 27th December to 1st January.

Our daily winter shuttle service is $30 per person – minimum passenger numbers apply.
